The Chinese giant Huawei is giving a tough time to its counterparts in North America. They have won deals with Clearwire and Cox and are further looking to strengthen their roots.
News from various angles have jumbled together to form an interesting picture. Motorola is splitting into two this year, it’s expected that the vendor will sell off its network infrastructure. Huawei, in all this, surfaces to be a major bidder.
Speculations say that Huawei is lobbying with certain US officials to make the conditions favorable but like many times in the past, the Chinese vendors’ undercover linkages with intelligence agencies seem to affect the deal.
If all goes well, Huawei might acquire the US vendor’s prized assets; there is nothing to fear from the likes of Ericsson, NSN and Alcatel-Lucent as the latter two are still struggling to get something to cherish, while Ericsson is going easy after buying Nortel’s wireless operations.
