Software Development Engineer

Location: Irvine, California
Compensation: 70-85K

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer to support our “Systems House” business unit in developing:

Test Systems for Wireless Technologies and other areas
Web-Applications that allow our external customers to interface with our “Test House” business unit
Web-Applications that allow us to streamline our internal business procedures
Tools which complement the functionality of our Test Solutions and Management Systems

Extensive experience and education background in Software Development for Windows applications, measurement instrument integration and web-applications would represent the ideal knowledge for this job.

Strong communication and written interpersonal skills, self motivated and ability to work independently, creative solutions provider, and the ability to interact constructively with team members are essential for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate would be responsible to develop and maintain Test Systems for different wireless technologies (GSM, W-CDMA, Bluetooth, LTE, CDMA) based on existing measurement instruments and signaling units and our existing system software framework.
In addition, the development engineer shall create or improve web-applications geared to improve our internal and external business processes (process automation, work-flow management, customer portals, Content Management Systems). The complete development cycle from design, development to testing and deployment falls into your responsibility.
It will also be your task to create high quality documentation for any component developed.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of a BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent
5+​ years of solid development experience on Windows platform (web applications and Windows applications)
At least 3 years working with C# and/or VB.NET (Visual Studio)
Basic knowledge of wireless communication standards: RF and / or Protocol level is a plus
MS Access, MySQL / SQL and relational database design
Familiar with Design Patterns
Experience with .Net Remoting
Experience with multi-threading
ASP.NET and web application development
XML/XSL/XSD
Application Integration with Microsoft Active Directory
Java scripts
Experience with network protocol TCP/IP and communication protocols like RS-232 and GPIB
Familiar with measurement equipment from companies like Rohde & Schwarz, Anritsu or Agilent including remote control via GPIB is a plus
Familiar with Iron Speed Designer is a plus
Familiar with version control tool (Subversion / SVN) is a plus
Familiar with Agile development is a plus
