Responsibilities
Responsible for Broadband Core network planning, network solutioning architect, network dimensioning and detailed network design.
End-to-end broadband core network capacity management which includes network capacity monitoring, network resource & traffics trending and upgrade triggering.
End-to-end broadband core network and service control platform quality enhancement
To provide technical feasibility study and assessments to support new product launching.
The responsibilities include Annual Operating Plan derivation and identify cost savings initiatives.
Business case formation for investment proposal and presentation in Technology Investment Committee for network expansion or new systems/services acquisition.
Investment & sourcing strategy and supply chain management.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (Hon) in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunications with at least 7 years of relevant working experience in Broadband/IP Core Network and PS Core Network.
• Industry certification (CCNP, CCNA, CCIE, MSCE).
• Knowledgeable in all service control engineering, service tiering policy and quota management.
• Working knowledge on LAN and WAN technologies covering both enterprise and telco networking environment. Well versed with TCP-IP fundamentals and network routers, switches and firewalls.
• Good knowledge and experience in IP Broadband architecture and design

Optimization of MGW (MSB, GPB, MSES etc),
Tactical weekly, monthly reports and reference charts on performance including CSSR, Paging, Location Update, MAP and EOS analysis, traffic engineering, VLR and HLR utilization and Processor load.
Producing Core Network Performance Ad hoc or Special Reports and also work in multi-vendor environment
Efficient utilization of design and measurement tools, including internal and external troubleshooting tools

Ericsson wins major deal from India’s Bharti
Swedish infrastructure and services firm Ericsson is raking in the cash this week, announcing its third major contract in as many days. On Wednesday, the vendor struck a $1.3bn deal with Indian operator Bharti Airtel to expand and upgrade the carrier’s 2G network over the next two years.
Under the deal, Ericsson will look to put in place a converged network and expand coverage in rural India, upgrading Airtel’s network in 15 of India’s 22 telecom circles.
As part of the contract, Ericsson will supply its energy efficient 2G/2.5G radio base stations, circuit and packet core, microwave transmission and Intelligent Network equipment. The Swedish firm will also ensure that Bharti’s core and transport network is 3G-ready.
Ericsson’s, head of region India, Gowton Achaibar, spoke to telecoms.com about the deal this morning: “Bharti still adds two million customers a month. So the deal includes new base stations, upgrades to old ones, as well as transport infrastructure, adding capacity to the network. To support this level of traffic growth and subscriber growth Bharti will have to keep adding equipment,” he said.
“Spectrum efficiency is a big challenge, especially in India, where readily available spectrum compared to the size of the market is an issue. The challenge is to achieve spectral efficiency without performance degradation,” Achaibar said. “Fortunately, a combination of network capability, software and managed services can offer efficiency in spectrum.”
The other big news in India this week is that the long awaited auction of India’s 3G spectrum has now been set as April 9. A total of nine companies have been approved to participate in the auction, with a further 11 submitting bids for the country’s BWA spectrum. Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Vodafone Essar, Idea Cellular, Tata Teleservices and Aircel have all bid for both licenses.
And Bharti is certainly spending the money at present. The firm only yesterday confirmed its $10.7bn tie up with Kuwait-based Zain, to acquire the latter’s sub-Saharan African assets.

VIRUS KENCING TIKUS

Mulai semalam kita dikhabarkan dengan berita duka. Saat ini selebriti DJ Din Beramboi bertarung nyawa angkara virus kencing tikus. Kita tidak tahu dari mana beliau mendapat virus tersebut tetapi cerita seumpama ini bukan baru. Sudah banyak kes kematian terutama dikalangan kaum Cina.
Secara kebetulan saya mempunyai rakan Tionghua yang anak saudaranya meninggal kerana virus ini. Lelaki remaja ini seorang yang pintar dan amat aktif dalam sukan. Keluarga kaya ini yang tinggal dalam perumahan "gated community"merasa sangat kehilangan dan bagai tidak percaya dengan apa yang menimpa mereka.Keluarga ini sangat cerewet tentang pemakanan dan tidak menyentuh minuman keras dan "soft drinks". Lalu mereka mencari dan cuba mendalami punca secara sendiri dan hasilnya amat memeranjatkan. Anak malang keluarga ini sangat suka minum air tebu! Selepas bersukan, air tebu satu kemestian. Itu laporan rakan-rakannya dan sipenjual tebu itu sendiri.
Apa kaitan air tebu dengan kencing tikus? Begini. Tebu datang dari luar bandar. Dibawa ke bandar berlori-lori . Sampai di pusat pemunggahan selalunya disandarkan dimerata tempat, disandarkan di tepi longkang, di tempat yang agak lembab, belakang kedai dan lain-lain. Tebu-tebu ini tidak habis sekelip mata. Kadang-kadang berbulan disitu. Selepas dua tiga hari, akar baru mula tumbuh dan di tempat-tempat seperti ini sang tikus memang bermaharaja lela. Bayangkan kadang-kadang sang tikus ini lebih besar dari kucing!
Kesimpulannya, sang tikus memang suka tebu. Manis. Bila sang tikus dah dapat makan tebu, di situlah juga ia melepaskan air kencingnya dan akar-akar tebu tadi menyerap sebagai "survival" dan bila tebu tadi diproses jadi air minuman manusia secara terus juga berkemungkinan mengitar semula virus air kencing tikus-tikus tadi. Betul atau tidak, wallahuallam. Apa pun cuba kita fikir logik dan "simple science of life cycle". Suratan atau kebetulan?
